We’ve brought our dog to Anniwell since he was a puppy and have always had the best experience. You’re greeted with a warm, smiley welcome every time, and our dog absolutely LOVES going in — he pulls us through the door! (This is not an exaggeration!) The vets always take their time with us, explain everything clearly, and genuinely care. We’ve never had trouble getting a same-day appointment when needed (even on Saturdays), which has been such a reassurance. The fact that our dog loves it so much is just another reason we do too. We honestly can’t recommend Anniwell enough.

I recently called this vet to request prescriptions for my dog, but was told I needed to book an appointment first. I understood that, so I accepted a same-day appointment. However, when I arrived, I was shocked at the condition of the reception and waiting area. There was hair everywhere and a strong smell — it genuinely looked like the floor hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. I know it’s a vet clinic and pets come and go, but basic cleanliness should still be a priority. When I saw the vet, I already knew what my dog’s issue was, and I even knew which medication she needed. The vet didn’t ask for my dog’s weight, only checked her temperature and paws, and confirmed the yeast infection I had already identified. She then prescribed the exact medication I had requested. There was no additional insight or explanation — nothing I didn’t already know. The biggest shock came at checkout: £200 for a consultation that lasted less than 10 minutes. So worked out £20 a min !!! Let that sink in 😡 On top of that, I was sold medication at more than double the price I could get online. £2.50 per pill for something that costs under £1 elsewhere. I also received ear drops that I was told to use on my dog’s paws can’t see how’s that relevant to her paws !!!! costing £55, which felt excessive. Overall, the prices were unreasonable, the visit was rushed, and the clinic itself was not clean. It’s extremely disappointing, and it’s no surprise pet owners feel frustrated with vet costs when experiences like this happen.

Absolute disgrace of a company. We booked an appointment for our dog last week with sedation tablets to get him relaxed. He was due to be put out for his jab annual check up and nail clip by David. All of which was arranged when booking the appointment. After sedating my dog we got to the appointment to be told David no longer works there, they didn't realise he had to be put out and couldn't do that for a few hours and could I come back later. They were told when booking the appointment he had to be put out. And of course I have no other things to do in life but revisit a vets practice that cannot take down instructions for the care of my animal..I told them I couldn't make it back that day so the vet said they would give more sedation tablets and to rebook. I said I would have to come back for the tablets as I my dog had been stressed out enough for nothing. I went back this Friday to pick up the replacement tablets and they tried to charge me for them. WOULD NOT REVISIT IF THEY PAID ME.

Kind and friendly staff that treat our dog with love and compassion. The best thing we've done is change practice ( our previous one was a well known practice but really bad). Shout out to Rachel. She is amazing!!!

This is a wonderful practice. The staff are polite, friendly and professional. The waiting areas are spacious and offer separate areas cats and dogs. This is a far better practice than the previous one my cat and I went to. I am so glad we changed.

We found a lost cat. The clinic reception was very helpful and advised we could take the cat there so they can find the owner. On arrival the clinic look amazing and the staff at the reception was quick to help us out and very friendly. I would highly recommend this clinic.

Amazing vets, I would rate higher if I could. The level of care and compassion is exceptional, always kind and supportive. I sadly had to have my dog put to sleep recently, and Aniwell made a difficult time much easier. They were so lovely to me, and fully understood all of my emotions - they never pressured me for payment after the euthanasia and even sent a card with a paw print in for me to keep. They treated my dog with kindness and dignity throughout the whole process, and I know he was in the best hands. All of the staff are so empathetic, and the care for both the animals and the owners is just amazing. The receptionists, the nurses and of course the vets. They go above and beyond. I will never use another vets while in Bournemouth, highly recommend for any pet owner. Thank you everyone at Aniwell.
