James recently saw my little Jack Russell Terrier as he had a very sore eye with quick onset. James saw us really efficiently, as an out-of-hours appointment that same evening as he wanted to check what was going on. James has such a friendly, calm demeanour that instantly put me at ease. He was great with my dog, who is sometimes a little worried at the vets - he took his time to reassure him and gave lots of treats! James found the problem, explained everything so well and provided treatment to help. He checked both eyes thoroughly while we were there and even found an incidental finding, unrelated to the issue but now something we know to monitor! My dog was better within 24 hours, and my mind was at rest within 5 minutes. I couldn't be happier with the service. I highly recommend Clarity referrals. James is so knowledgeable, experienced, professional, friendly and calm. Nothing was too much trouble, and no question was too silly. Thank you again James!

My local vets recommended that I take my 12 year old cockapoo to Clarity Referrals due her having a ulcer on her eye, From the moment I made contact with James she was polite and accommodating. During the consultation James was thorough that he discovered a problem with what we thought was her good eye and hadnt he done this she could of lost her sight. When it came to explain what was happening regarding my dogs eyes and the next steps, James was very clear, did drawing to help me understand what was going on in my dogs eyes. Every consultation was followed up with a detail report that I was emailed the same day. My dog was comfortable being around Jame as he use a calm approach, on the day she need her procedure she went with James willingly and I felt comfortable as an owner leaving her with James. I think for me one of the biggest things was how much James cared about my dog and it wasn't all about the money. He disguse with me every step of the way about the cost and was flexible and worked with me so we could get the most affordable and best outcome for my dog. I'm very happy with the treatment my dog has received and very happy, thanks to James she is pain free. I would 100% recommend James.

I took my little WC Spaniel in to see James recently after a referral from my usual vet. James was extremely thorough and gave me a clear picture of the next steps along with restoring my confidence in a diagnosis. Everything was explained (even a drawing on a white board) to ensure I understood. James is nothing short of a miracle-maker. Not only does he provide a calm, professional, detailed, specialist assessment, he also gives honest and expert advice that makes you feel reassured and like you are in a safe and experienced pair of hands. After 18 months of trial and tribulations with my dog's eye from other 'specialists', including misdiagnoses, and on off eye ulcers, James' assessment and prescribed treatment plan gave us positive results in just three days. A month later, my dog's eye which was 'marble like' is now bright, shiny, and his vision has improved. He has a new lease of life and we will forever be grateful. If any eye issues return or things develop in the future, I know that the advice James provides will be sound and the best around. This is a fantastic addition to Sherborne and I will be recommending Clarity Referrals to anyone I know who has an animal with eye problems. We are delighted owners and only wish we had met James sooner! This is as good as it gets for canine ophthalmology.

James treated our dog storm with great care and understanding, and explained exactly what was to happen, and looked after storm until we could collect her the next day. We could tell from storms reaction he has a great affinity for his animals.
