#1 Vet in Wimbourne, Dorset
Dumbledore Vets Ltd describes itself as an independent, small-animal practice, started by a vet-and-vet-nurse team aiming to offer a more personal service than they felt able to in corporate jobs. Recent reviews focus heavily on urgent/emergency presentations (including weekends), support for anxious/reactive dogs, and thoughtful end-of-life care (including keepsakes and handwritten cards sent afterwards). Owners also mention a more spacious setup with separate areas compared with their previous practice.

My review cannot justify just how amazing Dumbledore veterinary practice is, particularly after our recent emergency over the weekend. Hattie Foster was incredible. She quickly and compassionately assessed my dog, clearly explaining the situation, the necessary diagnostics, and all our treatment options. She handled my dog with the upmost care, as if he was her own pet, which meant the world to us during such a stressful time. We never felt rushed, and all our questions were answered throughly. Hattie is so professional, knowledgeable and extremely kind. If you are looking for a veterinary practice that genuinely cares and provides exceptional care, Dumbledore veterinary practice is the place.

Changed vets and haven't been happier. Up front and honest charging and excellent staff even with emergencies!

We registered with Dumbledores after our old vets were not very understanding with our German shepherd Puppy. Dumbledores have been amazing. They truly do understand that all K9s are different and treat them as such. They always help as much as possible with reactive dogs to help them stay as calm as possible. One of our cats also have a very severe wound to his paw after a run in with what appears to be wire, after nearly losing his paw the staff did everything they could and we are pleased that he has made a full recovery. They really are fantastic and would always recommend.

This review has been written a few months after leaving dumbledoor vets for another vet. And with time to reflect and experience with a more knowledgeable and generally catering vet we have now realised how bad dumbledoor was for our cat. We moved vet as dumbledoor could not help our cat so we tried moving vets with the same condition dumbledoor couldn’t help with and the other vet explained to us they had seen the condition before and it’s quite common and simply can be treated with tablets. I don’t understand how two vets can be so different in quality and experience. The amount of stress that dumbledoor vets caused due to there inexperience and inability to provide a good service has not only negatively affect our cat but our life’s. We gave dumbledoor vets a good try and we put our trust in them however after continuing to misdiagnose different issues over the years and give medication that made our cats health worse we are so happy to leave for another vets. This review is a warning for those considering dumbledoor vets if you have a cat. We do not have a dog and can’t say how experienced they are with dogs health. Very disappointing was hoping better. We have tried giving them feedback to help them learn and grow and they simply ignored us.

We moved our beloved dog over to Dumbledores after being recommended by a friend. We couldn't be happier with the care they are delivering. They are really helpful and we have been able to take Maurice for some desensitizing sessions with their nurses to get him more comfortable with them. They show true care towards your pets and have shown great care towards us as dog owners when we've been anxious or upset. Highly recommend

The one thing we all look for in a vets is compassion in the care they give. I had to say good bye to my baby boy (a 12 Yr old cat), a few weeks ago after a long term treatment. Everything Dumbledore done from treatment care and wishes, they done with a caring heart. I'm grateful for the passion of care they give. Thank you for being their for Titan and me x

We moved our pets here as our previous practice had a tiny waiting room where dogs and small animals all had to be squeezed in next to each other, so much room and separate parts here which is great. But what we have since discovered is that Dumbleton vets are unlike any we've used before as they are so compassionate and kind and helpful. We very sadly lost our cat in an accident recently and today received the most lovely mementos through the post along with a hand written card 🥹 my daughter will absolutely cherish them as we were far too distraught at the time to even think of doing anything ourselves so it means a lot that the staff took the time to do this and so beautifully too. We certainly won't ever be changing vets again xx

I was recently looking after my Son’s French Bulldog ,Lily, when she was taken ill. She had acute pain in her eye and was quite distraught. I called Dumbledore Vets who are close to where I live. They saw Lily within a few minutes of being called. Lily had an acute ulcer and they treated her over a period of days . They managed to save her sight and also treated her other eye . A big thank you to all the Vets and the Team , I thoroughly recommend your practice .
